How do you feel when you sense a disagreement brewing?
Do you want to get up and run out of the room? Do you see red? Or do you find yourself unable to form a coherent thought?
All of these are common and natural responses. Neuroscientists have found that when our beliefs are threatened, it triggers the same part of our brain as if we were under physical threat. We have one of three responses: flight, fight or freeze.
While these may be sensible reactions if you’re facing a hungry predator, they’re not the most helpful when you’re being challenged in a meeting.
The good news is, there is another way.
Next month I’m running a FREE webinar on Dealing with Conflict.
The session will cover:
What conflict means
Tips and tools to manage and de-escalate conflict
How to get the best out of disagreements
It’s 45 minutes, with plenty of time for questions. And if you can’t make it, book anyway as I’ll send out a recording.
Hope to see you there!
